Osteria Del Gran Fritto

If you are visiting the “costiera romagnola”, you can’t miss l’Osteria del Gran Fritto!
It is commonly known for its fried plates, which are really good and not too heavy, even though we are talking about fried fish and vegetables mostly. However, it is worth stressing the high quality standard the restaurant meets with all other plates.
The local is halfway between Milano Marittima and Cervia and it is really close to the beach.
The design is simple and maritime; as for the service, being honest I would rate it as a 4 out of 5. While I can’t complain about the service during the meal, I didn’t really appreciate the fact that it is not possible to book a table and you can sit down at you table only if all the people attending dinner are there.
On top of the service, the food was delicious! I shared a plate of fried fish and another one of fried vegetables. Then, I ordered a first course, which is typical of the restaurant, meaning rice with fish sauce. Finally, I also shared meringue cake with chocolate chips, which reminded me of stracciatella ice cream.
Finally, I tasted gratiné calamari, which were really good. In the pics, you can also have a look at a plate of raw fish and a cream with orange peel and caramel. I didn’t try these two personally, but those who were with me seemed super satisfied and pleased.
